Books
The Main Collection books are housed on the second floor of the Library. They are arranged according to the Library of Congress (LC) system of cataloging, which is an alpha-numeric call number relating to the book's subject matter and is assigned to each book. The books are shelved according to that number.
To locate a book, search PacCat, the Library's online catalog. Look for the call number on the first page of the record and then go to the appropriate shelf to find the book.
The Library has several PC laptops available for checkout. Please read these rules for their use.

Reporting missing materials that PacCat shows as "available"
Patrons who wish to report missing materials should fill out a missing Library Materials form and return it to the Circulation Desk. A search for the item will be initiated.
The appropriate Subject Specialist will be notified that the item is still missing upon completion of search by Circulation Staff.
Overdues
Material is considered overdue the day after its assigned due date. Fines start accruing from that date. An item must be returned or renewed in order for overdue fines to stop accruing.
If an item is on hold or needed for course reserves, it cannot be renewed and must be returned.
The first overdue notice is sent out via e-mail the day after the item is due. A second notice is sent 7 days later. After 30 days, the item is considered lost and therefore subject to replacement cost, processing fee, and fines.
Renewing Pacific University-owned materials (Pacific University students, faculty, and staff)
Borrowed materials may be renewed if they have not been requested by another patron and are not needed for course reserve. You may renew materials twice.
There are 3 ways to renew materials. You can:
