24-Hour Study Center
The 24-Hour Study Center is accessible only from the West entrance with a new BoxerID card. When the Library closes, the Library Classroom is accessible from the 24-Hour Study Center, but prior to closing, the Library Classroom is only accessible through the main building.
The 24-Hour Study Center contains one black-and-white printer and one color printer, an emergency telephone, and restrooms.
Art
The Library features several of Kathrin Cawein's black and white etchings and illuminated manuscripts. The Library also features three of Jeffrey Chang's (class of 1973) large raku pots. The glass installation on the second floor was created by Walter Gordinier (class of 1973). The Library features several of Jack McLarty's paintings throughout, and Barara and Jack McLarty have donated a Mexican Folk Art Collection that will be featured soon.
Book Drops
There are two book drops for patrons to use. One is located at the Circulation Desk counter. The other is near the east entrance to the Library.
Classroom
Library patrons are welcome to use the Library Instructional Classroom located on the first floor of the Library if it is not scheduled or already in use. The Library Instructional Classroom contains 23 computers and is used for Library instruction. To schedule the room, e-mail Lynda Larremore at larremol@pacificu.edu.
Computers
The first floor Information Commons area has 24 computers available for patron use. These computers have the latest versions of the main Internet browsers, as well as Microsoft Office. The computers use only CDs and flash drives, and the Library has the ability to help you store your documents on these media. There is one color printer and one black-and-white printer available in the Information Commons.
In addition to these computers, there are various computer stations situated around the Library from which patrons can browse PacCat and the Library's website.
Conference Room
The Conference Room on the second floor is used for the Board of Trustees and other meetings. The room can be scheduled through the University's scheduling coordinator and facilities management at schedule@pacificu.edu
Copy Cards - vending and recharging
The Library's photocopiers take only copy cards. Copy cards may be purchased and recharged at the vending machine in the first floor Copy Center.
Elevator
The Library has an elevator available for patrons who need assistance reaching the second floor and the Mezzanine.
Emergency Exits
Should an emergency arise, please follow the instructions of the Library staff. Emergency exits are located on the northeast side of the Library in addition to the public and staff doors.

Furniture
Benjamin Shook created the lounge chairs and coffee tables that are featured in the Library from wood that was harvested from the Pacific University campus.
Group Study Rooms
Students who wish to study as a group are welcome to use the Group Study rooms on the second floor of the Library if they are not already in use. Rooms cannot be scheduled and are on a first-come-first-served basis, but we ask that you yield the rooms to groups who need the equipment.
Room Equipment:
Rooms 208 & 209 - These rooms each contain Collaborative Learning Stations which consist of a plasma projector screen, and 6 outlets and data ports.
Rooms 210 & 211 - These rooms each contain one listening center that consists of a CD player, a casette player, and an AM/FM radio, as well as a television with built in DVD/VCR players.
Rooms 223 & 224 - These rooms each contain one listening center that consists of a CD player, a casette player, and an AM/FM radio.
Internet Access
The Library has both hard-wired Internet access built into study carrels and tables, as well as wireless Internet access available to the Pacific University community. Please visit the TIC (Technology Information Center) in Marsh Hall to establish your wireless connection.
Lockers
There are 24 lockers available to patrons for day-use only, and they will be emptied nightly. Please ask at the Circulation Desk to check out a locker key.
Music Library
There are four listening stations located in the Music Library. These consist of a record player, a CD player, a cassette player, and an AM/FM radio. There are additional listening stations in Group Study Rooms 210, 211, 223, and 224.
Photocopiers
The first floor Copy Center has two brand-new black-and-white copiers.
The second floor Copy Center has a black-and-white printer and a black-and-white photocopier.
The 24-Hour Study Center contains one black-and-white photocopier.
Public patrons pay $.05 per page. Photocopiers in the Library do not take change, so you must have a copy card to make photocopies. Copy cards may be initially purchased for $1.00 and recharged from the vending machine in the first floor Copy Center. Change in the form of one dollar bills is available at the Circulation Desk.
Printers
There is one color printer and two black-and-white printers available in the Information Commons on the first floor.
The 24-Hour Study Center contains one black-and-white and one color printer.
Printing services are only available on a cost-per-copy basis. Every month, $5.00 will automatically be credited to your account. You can monitor your present printing expenses at http://account.pacificu.edu.

Security Gate
To ensure that Library material leaving the building has been properly checked out, an electronic security system is in use. An alarm will sound when material that has not been properly checked out is taken through it. When the alarm sounds, all books and packages will be examined to make sure that all Library material has been checked out properly. If a non-circulating item is found, a written incident report may be filed with Campus Public Safety and with the Dean of Students.
Self Check-Out
The Self Check-Out system is located in front of the Circulation Desk, near the West entrance. Only books may be checked out at this location, and we ask that you take DVDs and videos to the Circulation Desk for check-out.
The system requires a new BoxerID card. There are simple instructions for check-out displayed on the station's screen.
1. Swipe your BoxerID card
2. Scan the book's barcode
3. Desensitize the book
4. End the transaction by pressing "done" on the screen
5. Take your printed receipt from the station
Telephone
There is a pay phone near the east entrance to the Library. Emergency phones (which dial CPS automatically) are located in the 24-Hour Study Center as well as the Mezzanine.
Typewriter
A typewriter is available for patron use. It is located in the first floor Copy Center.
